Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers see a design decision more clearly, without turning a small observation into a sweeping claim. Send proposals through the Contact page.
What we want to read
We consider original essays and reported or explanatory proposals about objects, interfaces, graphics, spaces and design methods. Strong subjects have a clear point of focus, a reader-facing question and enough substance to support careful explanation. Comparisons and specific examples are welcome when they illuminate a broader design choice.
A useful pitch
Tell us the proposed subject, the central idea, why it matters to a general reader and how you would approach it. Include relevant experience or sources you expect to consult, but do not send confidential material or assume it will be used. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication.
Standards and process
Submissions must be original, accurate and free of undisclosed promotional aims. We may ask for revisions, clearer sourcing or a narrower focus. We do not accept work that depends on unverified claims, invented testing or concealed commercial interests.
Design choices always have consequences
A polished surface cannot rescue a poor decision. We look at what a design makes easier, harder or more visible, and for whom.
