Editorial policy
Open Design Review aims to make design easier to examine and harder to oversell. We explain the basis for our claims, label commercial relationships and correct errors plainly.
Accuracy and care
We check factual claims against suitable sources and review descriptions for clarity and context. When an article includes interpretation, we present it as interpretation rather than settled fact. We do not claim first-hand testing or research that did not take place, and we avoid unsupported claims about performance or impact.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for reader interest and relevance, not to secure a sale or favour a partner. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a positive assessment or editorial approval. We retain control over our wording and conclusions.
Corrections
If we identify a meaningful error, we correct the article and make the change clear where appropriate. Readers can send a specific correction through the Contact page; useful details include the article and the passage in question. We assess corrections on their merits.
Partner and sponsored material
Paid placements, sponsored material and other partner contributions are clearly labelled so readers can tell them apart from independent editorial coverage. Labels are placed with the relevant material, not left for readers to infer from context.
Design choices always have consequences
A polished surface cannot rescue a poor decision. We look at what a design makes easier, harder or more visible, and for whom.
