Open Design Review

Partnerships

Open Design Review considers carefully defined collaborations and clearly labelled partner placements that suit a publication about design literacy.

Possible collaborations

Proposals may include a clearly separated sponsored feature, a labelled partner placement or a relevant editorial event or resource developed with a partner. We assess fit by subject, usefulness to readers and whether the relationship can be explained plainly.

Clear labels, clear boundaries

Paid or partner material is identified next to the material itself. Partnership does not buy favourable editorial coverage, a review, or control over independent editorial decisions. We will not present advertising as independent reporting.

Making a proposal

Use the Contact page to describe the organisation, the proposed format, the subject, the intended audience and any commercial relationship. Include enough detail for us to assess the idea; a proposal is not an endorsement or a commitment to publish.

Our point of view

Design choices always have consequences

A polished surface cannot rescue a poor decision. We look at what a design makes easier, harder or more visible, and for whom.
